Buying a healthy whole chicken is the first step. Some of the things I look for:
NO Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)
NO Pesticide Treated Grains
NO Grains Grown with Chemical Fertilizers
NO Synthetic Amino Acids
After you have roasted your chicken you can slice it up or shred it for other chicken recipes. We usually get 6-8 cups of chicken out of our whole chicken. This allows us to make several chicken recipes from scratch for the week.
Now don’t get rid of those bones quite yet. Remember cooking from scratch is making your own food. No need to buy chicken broth. Check out our Bone Broth Recipe or go back to our recipe page here. (It’s as easy as making the chicken)
